convenient
It was much cheaper than getting it through our Heating and A/C repairman. Also my husband was able to install it without much trouble.

BECAUSE OF ALLERGY PROBLEMS FOR SOME 30 YEARS NOW , I INSTALLED APRILAIRE'S 5000 AIR FILTER TO MY HOME HEAT/COOLING SYSTEM. IT HAS MADE MY LIFE MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE!
Needs better design
I'm no engineer, but I am a skilled handyman. The tedious and time-consuming task of inserting a replacement filter properly -- that is, making sure each flimsy plastic comb (6 in number) is weaved between each fold of the filter one at a time, without ripping the filter fabric, and then snapping each flimsy plastic clip onto the housing frame without breaking a one...let's just say the product engineers dropped the ball. Or maybe not, maybe it was done on purpose so that you would need to replace the combs. Replacement filters should be integrated with the frame and combs as one unit, regardless of higher cost. Then the task of replacing the filters would be done in a few minutes, nearly as easily as a normal furnace filter.
