Really blows the air - but noisy.
I got this fan to help air circulate in the bathroom - but it is really noisy even at a low setting. I can't use it in the bedroom, even for white noise, as it has an underlying hum that isn't constant so it ends up being distracting. But the sucker really pumps out the air - even at the low setting - so a good buy if you don't care about noise.
Black & Decker 8" fan
I am very happy with this product. So happy that I bought two. One was bought after my ac unit in the little camper trailer I call home died an untimely death. It got so hot while I waited the two days it took for delivery I went to Walmart and bought a simular fan. When the walmart unit [which cost the same] died two months after I bought it, I bought another Black & Decker fan from Amazon. It is a far better product and both run almost twenty-four hours a day with no problems so far. Just understand that it is a small fan and don't expect it to blow the Titanic off course and you will be happy.
Great for air circulation, but loud even for "white noise" use
I bought this to use in my bedroom to not only help circulate the air, but as a "white noise" machine since I can't sleep in total silence. It is louder than most fans I've used, even on the lowest setting, but there is also this inconsistant "hum" coming from it. It has these spurts of a loud humming/vibrating sound that even woke me up while this was on my headboard shelf. I moved it to the floor and put it on top of a magazine to try to muffle the sound, but it's still rather distracting. Over the past few weeks I am now used to these spurts of loud vibrations, but it could be annoying to light sleepers. Otherwise, it's a very powerful fan and works well.
